Semester Final Glancing about in everyday life a person sees anything that they focus upon. Watching interactions among people and the way individuals act, it is possible to notice the mainstream trend. In a world where people boast of being unique, everyone tries to be the same. In Shelley's Frankenstein, Salinger's Catcher in the Rye and Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle, this goal of societal sameness is ridiculed through it's contradiction, the unique individual. In Shelley's Frankenstein, the author uses the monster to demonstrate the propensity people have for shunning that which does not fit. ShSemester Final
